MY PHILOSOPHY

You will always remember your birthing experience. It matters! You deserve to feel safe, loved, supported, and pampered. You have the right to respectful care, evidenced based care, and the right to informed consent for any and all interventions. YOU get to make decisions about how to bring your baby into the world.

I respect, value, and serve all birthing bodies; all races and ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. I support people of all ages and different abilities. I am a full spectrum doula, and am pro-choice. I believe that individuals should always have the right to make decisions about their own bodies.

I am dedicated to the DONA Mission “A doula for every person who wants one”. I offer reduced fees for folks that need it. Please don't hesitate to ask.

If you have the opportunity to work with Cheka, you absolutely should! She's both informative and incredibly supportive while helping you and your partner create and decide on your birth plan. During labor, all of Cheka's skills shine. Her hands-on back support and her motivational words are a big part of what got me through contractions and transition during labor. So much so that I could never imagine laboring without a doula's hands-on support. It's a skill that most partners would need to spend months learning. Cheka also somehow managed to take beautiful photos and videos during labor that I know my family and child will cherish for decades to come. I can't speak highly enough of Cheka!!

Cheka was an instrumental part to my birthing experience and I could not imagine doing it without her! From our first prenatal visit where she helped us make a birth plan (something I didn’t know I needed, but boy you do!), to actually cutting my baby’s cord, she was there along the entire way. Her tips and tricks and company were invaluable, and the lights she hung up in my delivery room were the best touch. Throughout labor, she was able to help me work through my contractions and focus on pushing, assisting my husband to be the most helpful partner he could be (even if it meant just feeding me otter pops!), and helped ensure my wishes were followed by the medical team. I’m continuously impressed by the passion Cheka has in being a doula, and the work she has put into learning and growing in this role. I can’t wait until next time!
